Thanks for all of the support we have received for this Call to Action! We are so grateful to each person who has signed the petition and sent out emails.

A special thanks to everyone who came out in the middle of a Friday in the freezing cold to protest with us.

To anyone who wanted to be outside with us, know that we stood out there for you too! If you are just now hearing about us and would like to support - it’s not too late! Please consider signing the petition and sending out our pre-populated emails as a way to stand up for positive change.

What are

we doing?

A walk-out to bring awareness to the current discriminatory environment and lack of DEI initiatives at the College of Dentistry.

A protest to support the marginalized identities at the College of Dentistry and to hold the University of Iowa accountable to the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion values they claim to champion.

CoD students, faculty, and staff participating in the walkout: As health care providers, we must prioritize patient care and professionalism. Please follow absence request protocol as outlined in clinic and course syllabi or employee handbook in a timely manner before participating in Friday’s events.
